Gratinated figs with cream of turrón

Higos gratinados con crema de turrón

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 12 figs.
  • 250 cl whipped cream.
  • 150 g sugar.
  • 6 egg yolks.
  • 50 g cornflour.
  • 4 egg whites, beaten until stiff.
  • 1/2 stick of cinnamon.
  • 200 g of Jijona turrón.
  • The skin of half a lemon.


  • In a saucepan cook the milk, whipped cream, lemon peel and cinnamon. In another pan, add the egg yolks, sugar, cornflour and turrón. Stir until completely dissolved. Add the milk mixture, milk cream and lemon peel to this mixture. Boil for a few seconds, remove from the heat and set aside.
  • Whip the egg whites and mix with the mixture using a mixer.
  • Peel the figs and cut them in half. Arrange on a star-shaped dish. Cover with the cream and bake in the oven for about 20 seconds. The dish is ready. Serve hot.
